Research anyone can check
A result you cannot check is just a claim. We support the work that makes research possible to verify, and we want the students we equip to grow up expecting that.
Why this matters to a high school
The students in the courses we equip are learning what counts as evidence. They are deciding, early, whether science means trusting an authority or checking a result yourself.
So we care about the same thing at both ends. A sixteen-year-old running enough trials to believe her own data, and a published study with its data and code available, are the same habit at different scales.
What we are doing about it
Equipment that makes real data possible
Enough apparatus for a class to run repeated trials under matched conditions, which is what separates a result from an anecdote.
Teaching materials with the equipment
A maze on a shelf is not a curriculum. We are building the protocols and lesson material that go with what we award.
Supporting open research tools
Open publishing and open data infrastructure make it possible for anyone to check a result. We use it, we point people to it, and we want more of it to exist.
